By A Correspondent- A 49 year old Bindura man was arraigned before a Bindura regional magistrate Amos Mubhobho yesterday for allegedly raping his daughter-in-law.

Anderson Chabata was not asked to plead to the rape charge and was remanded in custody to November 4.

The state-led by Samson Chamunorwa alleged on October 17 the suspect was left at his homestead with his daughter-in-law and a nine-year-old juvenile while the complainant’s husband went to seek employment somewhere.

Around 8 pm the juvenile fell asleep and the complainant took her to bed.

Upon her return to the dining room, Chabata started caressing the complainant’s buttocks and breasts before raping her once.

Chabata threatened to kill the complainant if she reveals the rape to anyone.

The following day the complainant called her husband and told her about the rape.

The husband came back and accompanied his wife to the police station leading to the arrest of Chabata.
