By Claire Nyamubarwa| The battle for Zanu PF  District Coordinating Committee(DCC) chairmanship for Mazowe turned  bloody over the weekend when one member of a rival group was severely assaulted.

The assaulted youth leader Paul Kasvosve has since reported the case which is yet to be tried at the courts but indications are that it will appear today(Monday).

According to reports, a group allegedly working under the instruction of Kazembe Kazembe who is rooting for John Mudzonga ,besieged a joint in Concession assaulting members  of a rival group which left Kasvosve badly injured with a broken upper lip and broken teeth.

There are allegations that the   youths brazenly told police officers who were investigating the case that they were untouchable as they were taking orders from their boss (Minister of Home Affairs, Kazembe Kazembe)

The case which had suspiciously took time to be   tried is set to appear this Monday (today).

“There are worries that the violent incident happened some weeks ago but the police was dragging its feet pointing to suspected interference from the Minister,” claimed one informant who requested anonymity.

It is alleged that Kazembe has vowed that John Mudzonga who is the Mazowe Rural District Council Chairman will be the next Mazowe DCC Chairperson at whatever cost.

Efforts to get a comment from Minister Kazembe were unsuccessful.

Interestingly Kazembe was quoted in a local daily saying there will be a bloodbath if anyone dare challenge his position as Mashonaland Central chairman. His preferred candidate John Mudzonga is his campaign manager.
