By A Correspondent| Government has launched the pfumvudza programme in Harare with the Provincial Development Coordinator Tafadzwa Muguti saying their focus is to ensure food security in urban and peri urban areas.

Posting on Twitter soon after launching the programme, Muguti said Agritex will work with City of Harare, Chitungwiza, Ruwa and Epworth in identifying suitable non-wetland areas.

Muguti said they are targeting 205 000 families.

“Today as Harare Metropolitan Province we launched the Urban & Peri-Urban Pfumvudza programme. Agritex working with local authorities @cohsunshinecity & @chitungwizamun, Ruwa & Epworth will identify non wetland, suitable for farming. We targeting 205,000 families. Nzara yapera,” said Muguti.
