New CEO For Corruption Riddled NSSA

By A Correspondent| After serving in an acting position for one year, Arthur Johnson Manase has been appointed as the National Social Security Chief Executive Officer.

Manase’s appointment is with effect from 1 January 2021, the NSSA statement has revealed.

The authority said Manase’s appointment was duly done in terms of Section 25 of the NSSA Act (Chapter 17:04) and Section 17 (2) of the Public Entities Corporate Governance Act (Chapter 10:31).He also served as executive dean at the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) from January 2001 to November 2003 before moving to Air Zimbabwe where he served as a legal counsel/head secretarial and corporate affairs.

Presently, he is enrolled for Ph.D. studies with the UZ; he holds a Master of Laws from Cambridge University, Bachelor of Laws and a First Class Bachelor of Law (Honours) all from UZ.

NSSA is a statutory body established in terms of the NSSA Act of 1989 to provide social security, which is run as a pay-as-you-go pension scheme.
