Nick Mangwana Threatens Hopewell Chinono’s Court Witnesses | UPDATED.

By Dorothy Moyo | Information Ministry Secretary Ndabaningi Mangwana has used his position to threaten court witnesses in the ongoing court case against journalist Hopewell Chin’ono, lawyers Job Sikhala, and Fadzayi Mahere.

Writing Wednesday morning, Mangwana used his position to impose a dead-end on witnesses, saying the identity of the Second Street mum of the motionless baby filmed on the 4th January last week Monday, is already sealed.

Last night, the state broadcaster, ZBC produced a video saying it is of the Second Street mother as she exonerated the police while blaming mere windscreen glass for the attack against the child which got the capital city to a standstill last week.

Responding to ZimEye last week, Nick Mangwana had said, ” We have checked and so far @PoliceZimbabwe have no report of a baby that has been killed. Maybe they receive one later but nobody is yet to report a dead baby. They said they are investigating the skirmishes in this video.”

The woman presented by Mangwana and the ZBC last night is thinner, has a smaller-nose bridge, long braids, and has no earnings contrary to the one on the original video who wrestles a police officer amid loud screaming that he has killed her child.

The allegation of killing the child is repeated over nice times over a short 43 second clip.

The incident is the one that saw the Zimbabwe Republic Police driving to Hopewell Chinono’s house to arrest him last week.
