Tinashe Sambiri|MDC MDC Alliance Youth Assembly official, Hon Joana Mamombe has condemned the prolonged detention of Alan Moyo.

Hon Mamombe described Alan Moyo as a fearless comrade.

“Alan Moyo (23), one of the most fearless comrades in the fight for academic freedom. He was arrested on 7 December 2020. The detention of cde Alan Moyo at Chikuribi Remand Prison without being granted bail is a gross violation of his Constitutional rights.

Together with the #ZINASU President, cde Takudzwa Ngadziore and Ward 16 Clr Denford Ngadziore managed to secure some food stuffs for him. Due to the lockdown and COVID-19 we were unable to see him but good thing, they accepted the food.
Cde Alan, you are a fighter.

We continue to call for his freedom,” Hon Mamombe said in a statement.

MDC Alliance Students Council Secretary General, Rujeko Hither Mpambwa, also called for the immediate release of of Alan Moyo and all jailed political activists.

“The prolonged detention of Cde Alan Moyo is unconstitutional and unacceptable. We call for his immediate and unconditional release.

The regime is taking advantage of the lockdown to terrorize political activists.

Our message to Zanu PF is clear- release our comrades, they are not criminals,” said Mpambwa.
