Tinashe Sambiri|A war veteran based in Chilonga area, Chiredzi has vowed to resist eviction from “ancestral land”.

Government is planning to evict thousands of Shangaan people from their ancestral land to create space for a grass- growing project.

NGOs and pressure groups have condemned the move.

The war veteran fumed:
“Where shall we go? I spent 4 years in the battlefield and came back to build my home here.

Today, they are evicting me from my home. I also did not benefit from the land reform. So, what did I fight for? What did I suffer for?”
