In a sad development Zimbabwe football legend David ‘Yogi’ Mandingora is likely to have a second amputation after developing an infection on his left leg.

Mandingora the first player to be crowned the footballer of the season in independent Zimbabwe in 1980, had his right leg amputated in 2017 but an infection on the remaining left leg has become a cause for concern.

A source close to Mandingora, Martin Changachirere posting on Twitter, praying for Devine intervention.

” It’s sad to share that David Mandigora other leg is very likely to be amputated again .My prayer is for a miracle to happen and heal his leg from infection. My prayer is to ease the mental torture that he is going through because of this possibility.He is a cool guy to many,” posted Changachirere.

Mandingora helped Dynamos end a 10 year wait without a league title coaching them to the championship title in 2007.

With a shoe string budget and average players, Mandingora guided Dynamos to the semi finals of the CAF African Champions League in 2008.

Mandigora served at national level as the Warriors assistant coach on three occassions under Ammando Ferreira, Charles Mhlauri at AFCON in 2006 and Rahman Gumbo.
