By Dorrothy Moyo | Analysis | Emmerson Mnangagwa, Oppah Muchinguri, and Constantino Chiwenga stand together firmly fixated on Zimbabwe’s Electoral Commission chairperson Priscilla Chigumba while she’s busy tabbing hard a chunk of numbers into her computer. It’s a busy day.

The date is 15 July 2023 just before the elections, and in no time at all, bang – on the screen quickly pops out Madam Boss, Passion Java, and Mai Titi. The computer displays a matrix of digits making up a straight 2,5 million people converted into voters. Every entry has phone number data and the batch has an ‘x’ placed into the voting column.

Database tables are drawn up, and the primary keys (core identification detail) are typed Emmerson Mnangagwa. The development is a build up from Tyra Chikoto, Madam Boss’s instructions to her Facebook fans to jot down their cellphone numbers.

Two weeks later elections are held and Nelson Chamisa participates. He works hard not knowing the ballot papers are going into one database that’s already been twisted.

This is how the 2023 elections are to be rigged according to leaked minutes from the Youth And Sports ministry, deputised by Tino Machakaire. WILL IT WORK?
