By A Correspondent- Willard Katsande’s chase for justice is on with the man accused of assaulting him during a road rage incident having now been brought to book.

According to the City Press the accused, Jacobus Koekemoer, briefly appeared at the Randburg Magistrates Court last week on charges of common assault and malicious damage to property.

He was then granted R1000 bail with the case postponed to September 29 for further investigation.

The veteran midfielder was involved in the ugly road rage incident on the day two weeks ago leaving his luxury motor vehicle damaged.

Katsande was travelling home after making his debut for new club Sekhukhune United against Chippa United at Makhulong Stadium when he found himself involved in the fracas in Roodepoort with the suspect allegedly damaging his German sedan.

The 35-year-old immediately opened a case of common assault and malicious to property at the Honeydew Police Station.

According to the police report, the white male driving a Ford EcoSport assaulted Katsande on the corner of Hendrick Potgieter and Peter Road and broke the driver’s window and mirror causing damage estimated at R50 000.

The scene was left with blood stains just like the car.

Despite the incident, Katsande was still able to feature for Sekhukhune in their next game which was a 2-0 away win at Maritzburg coming on just after half-time.

Katsande recently joined Sekhukhune after spending a decade at Kaizer Chiefs where he earned legendary status.
