By A Correspondent- A 41 year old soldier appeared in court yesterday accused of raping his two-year-old daughter.

Paul Saizi pleaded not guilty before Harare magistrate Ignatio Mhene and was remanded to September 16 for defence case.

The court heard that sometime in December last year, the two-year-old child was left in the custody of her father and the maid Urita Makoto.

During that period, Saizi would force oral se_x on his child and rap_ed her on several occasions and after the act, he used to wipe the complainant’s privates using a cloth.

The minor revealed the case to the maid who then made a police report.

The minor testified in camera.

The investigating officer Tafadzwa Rusere from Chinamhora testified as the second witness and told the court that Makoto whose whereabouts are unknown to the police, brought the child to the police station and she described what her father had done to her.

The State led by Shepherd Makonde tendered a medical affidavit that the two-year-old obtained from the hospital and it showed that she had been abused several times and her privates had severe ruptures showing that she had had se_xual intercourse.
