Zimbabwean opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has strongly asserted that the use of force should never be the means to lead the people.
Chamisa condemned the recent attack on Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine by suspected government agents, underscoring his commitment to non-violent political change.
In a statement this week, Chamisa said:
“I have just spoken with my dear brother in Uganda, @HEBobiwine. I am relieved to learn that he is recovering well and remains unshaken by the recent cowardly attack. His spirit is strong, and his resolve is unwavering. Such acts of violence have no place in our politics in Africa.
Our politics should be driven by values, aspirations, and a genuine commitment to serving the people. For too long, Africa has been plagued by adversarial and corrosive politics.
The #NextAfrica generation dares to be different. We stand for a new politics where guns are silenced, and dialogue, respect, and the will of the people take center stage.
We stand in full solidarity with @HEBobiwine, the people of Uganda, and all those fighting for freedom around the world. Your toil and passion for liberty will nourish and strengthen the tree of freedom.
Your courage and determination inspire us all. May God continue to preserve and bless you all.”
Chamisa also highlighted the scarcity of true, genuine leaders, referencing the profound example set by Jesus Christ in John 15:13 and Ezekiel 22:30, who laid down his life for others.
He emphasized that extraordinary leadership should be marked by sacrifice and service.
