By A Correspondent | The UK based Melissa Mawadzi has struck again, this time scamming a female jobseeker out of £2,000 in exchange for fake Certificate of Sponsorship (COS) papers. This latest incident comes right on the heels of her husband Dennis Mawadzi being exposed by Sky News for his involvement in multiple such scamming activities.
Melissa took advantage of the victim through neighbour referrals, promising to provide the necessary COS papers required for employment in the UK. Three months later, the victim has not received a single document. When questioned, Melissa responded with threats to sue for defamation, rather than addressing the missing papers. She was still to comment at the time of writing.
The businesswoman’s behaviour suggests that all this while this is what she has been doing since 2022, regularly waiting for the next victim to pounce on.
The cases covered by ZimEye, have a similar pattern of behaviour.
