Roman Catholic church has been plunged into mourning after one of its youth Nigel Chibekeswa drowned at Zanadu Resort in Concession.

The 19-year-old man drowned and his friends tried to rescue him but only managed to retrieve his corpse.

According to witnesses the boy failed to swim and drowned.

“The now deceased Chibekeswa drowned while at a church party but his friends tried to rescue him but failed,” said Timothy Sango.

Police are on record discouraging people from playing close to water bodies
