A heartbreaking incident has occurred in Rusape, Manicaland Province, where two siblings, Blessmore (9) and Wayne (7), drowned in a pool of water on Monday.

The children’s mother, Talent Sandako, had recently fled her abusive husband, Webster Tashaya, and moved to Rusape with their children.

According to authorities, the siblings slipped away from their mother’s attention while swimming and drowned in a deep pool of water. Their four-year-old sibling, Blessed, witnessed the tragedy and informed their mother, who then alerted neighbors and authorities.

The incident occurred just two weeks after the couple separated due to allegations of infidelity and a history of domestic abuse. The children were students at Gandidzanwa Primary School in Odzi. Police have confirmed the incident, and the bodies have been taken to Rusape General Hospital for post-mortem examination.
