A horrific incident occurred in Daakoni Village, Buhera, on January 10, 2025, when 32-year-old Tawanda Magoso brutally axed his 11-year-old son, Taonga Magoso, to death. According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), Magoso had visited a Masowe shrine for prayers before returning home and committing the heinous crime.

Magoso allegedly used an axe from his bedroom to strike his son indiscriminately all over the body, causing severe injuries, including decapitation and multiple wounds on the back. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to these injuries.

With the help of community members, Magoso was later apprehended and arrested in connection with the murder.

This tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and the motive behind Magoso’s actions is yet to be determined.
