Mnangagwa Dismisses Chiwenga Relative, Announces Replacement

The factional struggles within Zanu PF took a new turn on Tuesday when the office of President Emmerson Mnangagwa announced the immediate dismissal of Apollonia Munzverengwi from her position as Minister of State for Mashonaland East Provincial Affairs and Devolution.

Below is the statement issued regarding her removal:

REMOVAL OF HONOURABLE APPOLONIA MUNZVERENGWI FROM THE OFFICE OF MINISTER OF STATE FOR PROVINCIAL AFFAIRS AND DEVOLUTION, MASHONALAND EAST PROVINCE

His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde. Dr. E. D. Mnangagwa, has, in accordance with Section 108(1a) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, removed Hon. Apollonia Munzverengwi from the position of Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland East Province, effective immediately.

In a subsequent announcement, President Mnangagwa named Munzverengwi’s successor.

APPOINTMENT OF HONOURABLE ITAYI NDUDZO AS MINISTER OF STATE FOR PROVINCIAL AFFAIRS AND DEVOLUTION, MASHONALAND EAST PROVINCE

His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde. Dr. E. D. Mnangagwa, has, in accordance with Section 104 Subsection (1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, appointed Hon. Itayi Ndudzo as the new Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland East Province, effective immediately.
