Sports Correspondent – Tawanda Maswanhise has revealed his excitement as he prepares to represent Zimbabwe at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The Motherwell striker, named in the preliminary squad announced on Wednesday, was a standout performer during the qualifying rounds and has cemented his role in the Warriors’ attacking line.
Speaking to Motherwell’s media team, Maswanhise expressed his anticipation for the tournament. “It’s going to be my first big tournament with the national team, so I’m excited,” he said. “I will be leaving [the club for AFCON camp] in the second week of December. Hopefully, I will have success in that tournament.”
The 23-year-old has been in impressive form this season, netting eight goals in thirteen league matches and currently sharing the top spot for goal-scoring in the Scottish Premiership.
His performances have boosted expectations that he could make a major impact at AFCON.
