  1. Yes They do. We all do. The day we think we know it all is the day we fail.
Awareness training is always following us.

Yes ZIMRA officers are in need of training in what professionalism looks like.
Yes Police need training in what professionalism looks like.
    Teachers
    Doctors
    Nurses

That training could be as simple as sending them publications and asking them to sit and pass a test if they want to continue in the job.

We are members of a country full of violence and we all need to stop and learn to live in peace as the announcement today asked us to do. It is a very big but important ask.

    stop corruption
    Stop violence
    Stop provocations
Stop criminality of any sort, whether officers are there or not.

    all at a national level.

The incentives should be readout too. We all should know. Sabhukus do not victimise subjects in the name of ZANU PF or Mnangagwa even though that has happened in the past.

Awareness Training is good for all those dealing with public on government business. It does not have to take months or even weeks. If guidelines are formulated the course can be over a week. then if you are found contravening what you have just been reminded it is fair to punish heavily.

Money looters were given 3 months to think and act. Give police a clear ultimatum of a week then let them do their job as they are still paid to do. .

  2. It is the role of the police constitutionally to be seen in our streets. We cannot use the term corrupt as a sweeping statement. You should be presenting views on how the force can weed out corruption in which even some members of the public are willing participants. Not every problem is a training problem. If it be, the training idea being mooted can as well be implemented in all arms of government inclusive of ZIMRA. The soldiers you seem to applaud (Chibwe) are no saints either, some of them. I don’t know whether you propose training again as a solution? Already they some of them are causing mayhem in towns and townships, Some have been the running dogs for ZANU-PF in elections and left a trail of emotional destruction. I will ask you to watch as we go to the next elections their role. This is a country for 37 years which has not seen its army confined in the barracks. The reason we have them out is simply the continuation of the disregard of the constitutional calls, I am sure you could have heard (Chibwe) MPs debating on that matter with reference to the constitution, The reason we want the soldiers in the strets is because we are now obsessed with with the disregard of the rule of law and those supposed to uphold it just dont care about. The reason you have the army in the streets is simply not about pursuing criminals, its because those that staged a coup are unsettled. As a result they want to keep the povo in fear and on its toes untill they are finally convinced that you are unlikely to regroup for a counter. On a lighter not, we should be debating on how best as a nation can we rid ourselves of the culture of corruption which permeates all spheres of life? Unfortunately, it should start at the top. Like the proverbial saying that the fish rots from the head, it is true of the top that should help spearhead the fight. Thats our greatest challenge. Do those at the top need training (Chibwe)?kkkkk

  3. You are right. Zimbabwe is corrupt. The police are closer to people than army. This means we must have professional police. We do not have that at present nor have we had in the last few years.

I was proposing a solution to train the police while the army holds the fort. The alternative is to bring back police as they are and that is a total NO.

The world is always getting it wrong about Zimbabwe. We have never had the correct support from the world. We need a local solution. Police are too corrupt to police. They need to be out and use the opportunity to train then come back a little more professional.

I am not saying Army is better at policing than police. No. Only that police need to retrain to become professional.

  4. This is a dangerous view. Soldiers have been beating up defenceless women. There are already international calls for these soldiers to be brought to book. You should not be dangerously naive and continue to allow a gukurahundi demon to make you cherish the perpetual instilling of fear on the defenceless civilians. Not every police is corrupt. Minister Perence committed genocide and ethnic cleansing. The world is now singing this song about him. Not the police.

  5. Soldiers cannot go back to barracks till the police are professional. At present we effectively have no police because the current thousands upon thousands of police commit more crimes than the citizens they police. This is unsustainable. Police must all be retrained and become professional police. Till then soldiers must remain on the streets and supervise police
