By Shiellah Sibanda|  MDC Deputy President Nelson Chamisa has expressed dismay at the announcements by President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s advisor Chris Mutsvangwa that ZANU PF is going to use the army on civilians so to ensure it wins the upcoming 2018 elections.

The development has put to rest questions on why soldiers are still working on the streets like police officers four (4) weeks after last month’s coup was completed last month.

Writing on his portal Sunday morning, Chamisa said, “Mutsvangwa, Hungwe let the cat out of the bag saying army will be heavily involved in 2018 elections. (SEE VIDEO)

“Remember June 2008.To date, we’ve lost over 500 Zimbabweans to political violence & hundreds of thousands in hospitals & road accidents due to bad governance!”

Meanwhile, ZANU PF yesterday attempted at a softening of Chris Mutsvangwa’s statement with its Legal Secretary Paul Mangwana saying ZANU PF does not been the army since there is no opposition to talk about.

  1. Surprisingly zimboz would cry day in day out when people try to put pressure on ZANU not to use the army in elections! To them all this is normal, really? What a shame!

  2. You are spot on. ED’s stature is being downgraded each day by puerile fools around him. There is an old adage which states that you need to keep your mouth shut, unless you have something fundamentally important to say. Unfortunately, this is not the case with the Mutsvangwas, Hungwes etc of this world!

  3. Get away iwe , why did he call the army to remove Mugabe then if the army is not a political weapon, its just that Team Lacoste have vanhu vane manyawi , vasingagone kunyarara , like Mutsvangwa.

  4. This why Chiwengwa is refusing to be vice President and remain in charge of he army so that the army goes into the barracks when election time comes.he does not want army to be used as a political weapon.
