Dynamos managed to book a place in the Chibuku Super Cup quarter-finals following a 1-nil victory over Wha Wha FC at Rufaro stadium Saturday afternoon. The only goal came from Richard Kawondera towards the end of the match.
Wha Wha created great chances early in the first half but failed to break the deadlock.
Sensing danger, Dynamos clawed their way back into the game with Rodrick Mutuma getting into some promising positions.
The match would, however, go to the half time break deadlocked at nil-all.
Dynamos came back stronger in the second half with Mutuma making some darting runs down the left flank.
Kawondera could have steered the hosts into the lead but shot wide in the 79th minute.
An impressive exchange of passes between Mutuma and Chinyama placed Mutuma into a promising position only for the lanky Dembare forward to shoot wide.
A casual Kawondera effort denied the Glamour Boys an opener but the midseason Dembare signing made no mistake with an alert header which ensured Dynamos registered a vital 1-nil win that steered them into the last 8 of the Chibuku Super Cup.
Tonderayi Ndiraya was relieved with the victory while his Wha Wha counterpart Lloyd Mutasa bemoaned chances missed in the first half.
