A top Gospel musician famed for the popular Pentecostal album titled “Revival,” has exposed himself for dabbling with so called “Satanic powers” to get rich.
Clive Barangiro, affectionately known for his “unique vibes and powerful voice,” has been caught in a limbo having been duped by three “witch doctors” from whom he sought special powers to get rich.
Barangiro’s “Witch doctor escapade” as it has come to be known, has been exposed through the arrest of three “witch doctors” who allegedly duped him $2,150.
Magistrate Elijah Makomo heard that the three, Elison Kapako, Learnmore Maisiri, and Ashley Marunya, in December pulled Barangiro through an advert in which they claimed they could make people rich.
Barangiro expressing his desire travelled to Mbare where the tree began their consultations and told Barangiro that the ancestors (midzimu) wanted him to “seed” an offering of $3,000.00.
The religious Barangiro accepted the instruction and returned with a large part payment of $1500.00.
He was then driven to Glenville cemetery where while standing at the floor of graves, he heard a voice ordering him to place all the money he had on top of a nearby grave. He was also told he should bring the full figure $3000. He was also told to take some liquid and sand and anoint the tombstone and “then go away”.
Barangiro then left the place but Kapako remained behind soon taking the money with him.
When Barangiro returned to the grave to perform the anointing and sand sprinkling instructions, he noticed that the money had disappeared “with Kapako”. He began to query with Kapako who told him the money had transformed into a stone.
On the following day when Barangiro paid another $500, Kapako told him that the stone would now turn into money for Barangiro, which never happened. Later, on the 9th of December, Kapako began to further demand $350 saying the ancestors needed it to buy goats. It was then that Barangiro realising the trickery, filed a report with the police leading to Kapako’s arrest.

  7. The extent to which people go to get rich is frightening and out of this world. As a born again Christian, I thought Barangiro would no very well what God says in Deut. 28 says; “I shall bless the works of thy hands” Ko zvimwe izvi zvinozobva kupi? Ma1 chaiwo. No wonder why some people even kill to get rich. Shame on you.
