By Farai D Hove| As President Emmerson Mnangagwa prepares to announce his deputies, it has emerged he has isolated (or better said, kept to his wide) two senior party cadres, who are all war veterans of note.

Mnangagwa announced that all politburo members are retained, save for two who have lost their portfolios, and these are Sydney Sekeramayi and Kembo Mohadi.

Analysts have speculated that this indicates that these two are likely his VP final choices.

Mohadi is a war veteran from the ZIPRA side, while Sekeramayi is a liberation fighter from the ZANLA.

A dodgy Malawian necromancer, Shephered Bushiri claims to have prophesied that Mohadi would soon be given a crown. But Mohadi had already been published as a Vice President potential for several years before 2015 (more than 8 years to date).

Sekeramayi, alongside Mugabe and Mnangagwa, are the only three survivors of the 1977 Zanu post-congress leadership who have remained firmly in the party for over 40 years to date. Up until last month when he was excluded by Mnangagwa, Sekeramayi had served as a cabinet minister since 1980.

Sekeramayi who appeared at the ZANU PF congress in Harare donned in a shiny Mnangagwa party regalia, smiling and was filmed at times smiling, is said by many to be too soft and timid.

Meanwhile, Mnangagws is expected to announce his VPs in a few days’ time.
