President Emmerson Mnangagwa has warned his newly sworn in deputies, Retired General Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi to guard against complacency saying they should hit the ground running and deliver on the promises government  committed to deliver to the country.

Briefing journalists at State House today (Thursday) during Chiwenga and Mohadi’s swearing in ceremony, Mnangagwa said their immediate task is to work with ministers to ensure development of the country.

“The new Vice Presidents are not only expected to perform, but to show results and that entails guarding against complacency. They have to drive the Ministers.

“The performance of the Ministers will be reflected by the supervision given by the two Vice Presidents so the assessment of the two will be based on what comes out of our ministries,” said Mnangagwa.

Mnangagwa’s calls follows his stance since taking over from former President Robert Mugabe, to improve the work ethics, especially in the public service sector.

During his inauguration, Mnangagwa warned that days of complacency and absenteeism in the public service were long gone.- 263 chat

  1. They are ‘anti-freedom’ of criminals and sell-outs … just like every self-respecting country are.
Who the hell wants criminals running around undermining and destroying any country? You?

  2. Isn’t that a common and NATURAL principle?
The Lions eat the lion share of the ‘kill’.
And the scavengers later eat their scraps?

So you will need to wait until these African Lions eat, and leave scraps for you.

  3. Nothing tangible? What of announcement by Perence Shiri that Ex-combatants will get residential stands in every urban area?kkkkkkkk. Anti seen nothing yet! That’s Zanu PF for you. Povo feed on promises whilst ED, Chiwenga et el continue to feed on diamonds, farms, other national wealth, etc

  4. They were going to impeach Mugabe in 3 hrs. Why have they not repealed POSA and AIPPA in over a month? They are enemies of freedom

  5. Some of the comments abt this Govt make interesting reading but quite unfortunate as it proves beyond doubt that people really do forget…..some horrible crimes of unimaginable cruelty were committed on innocent Zimbabweans by these very same guys defending nothing else but power and protecting their loot……what has changed in that regard…NOTHING ! It was clear Zanupf as a party was doomed in the 2018 elections, these guys are here today to achieve nothing but to ensure they stay in power……that’s it ! Watch this space…….handeyi tione !

  6. What ‘tangible’ did you want to see FOR A LARGE GOVERNMENT? lol

You can see no planning and preparing?

In order to build a little house, intelligent minds will FIRST make plans and preparation.

In order to build a LARGE nation/government, shouldn’t there be time allowed for even greater planning a preparation?

  7. so far a month and a half into this new regime and there is nothing tangible to show for it, so not sure what these new guys are going to change, we wait and see.

  8. Exactly this is what we telling the ones who are born to oppose tht this new government mean real business, rambai mukadaro baba history will definitely honour you and your colleagues if you keep on tht track, plz don’t forget to recover everything tht was looted even by your close allies, tht way I promise you 90% bumper victory in these coming elections without doubt.
