Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa has humiliated Zimbabwe, his boss Robert Mugabe, and his ZANU PF party in China where he had travelled to pursue progress on Mugabe’s much publicised mega deals signed at the beginning of the year.
In a televised interview Mnangagwa revealed Zimbabwe is still a million years away from realising any returns from Robert Mugabe’s mega deals with the fiery Red-Dragons.
He made this shocking and lengthy fumble while being grilled by CCTV News on Zimbabwe’s indigenisation policy having been asked what policies his employer has put in place to safeguard investors.
The development comes barely a few months after the VP this year audibly praised his party’s enemies saying, “Pamberi neMhandu.”
Responding during the interview in which he also instead of speaking on Zimbabwe’s behalf, Mnangagwa appeared to be acting for the Chinese nation than his own employers, the Vice President said “China is ready. The burden is now on Zimbabwe to produce bankable projects. It could be infrastructure. It could be in IT, China is ready to support.”
It was at that moment that Mnangagwa threw the cat out of the bag by revealing that Zimbabwe three (3) years after it instituted the controversial indigenisation program, is not even educated enough to know “that investments can only go where they get a return.”
He said, “…but of course we must know that investments can only go where it gets a return(sic-grammar). So we must make sure we create an environment where investors are happy to put their money because they will have a return…
“So (on) the question of indigenisation, we fight with people because they read Western papers. But when you come to Zimbabwe and sit down with us, they will be more than happy to invest in Zimbabwe and the question of repatriation of their profits again it’s open. We now use the US dollar,” he said.
He continued, “so there is no question of hard currency, already that’s the hard currency, the currency that governs the world and I can assure you that Zimbabwe is a good destiny(sic) for investments. Whatever sector of the economy you may have in mind.”

  1. Stupid! To sum up what he said: China is ready but Zimbabwe not yet. How the hell do you go looking for investment when your country is not yet finished creating the required environment?

  2. As long as Zimbabwe remains a Mafia State run by a hated and despised Dictator masquerading as a democratically elected President, Zimbabweans will remain unemployed, impoverished and reliant on food aide.
Billionaire public ‘servant’ Robert Mugabe’s appalling legacy to the Zimbabwean people – 35 years of shameful mis-governance:
    Highest unemployment in the World
Lowest life expectancy in the World
Highest Inflation ever recorded at 350 billion percent.
Humiliatingly forced to use US currency after bankrupting the country
Destroyed the economy – from 2nd largest in Africa to not even in the top 50 in just 35 years
More than 2 million people reliant on food aid
Forced more than 5 million people to leave the country to find work.
Hospitals and schools now among the worst in Africa
Highest child deaths from preventible decease outside of a war zone
Highest number of dollar millionaires in Government
One of the worst countries in the World for corruption
One of the worst human rights records in the world.
Uses 95% of the nation’s natural resource revenue for party political and personal enrichment
Uses food aid for party political purposes
Forced to rig every election since 1980 to avoid the ICC hangman’s noose
Who in their right mind would want to visit, live or invest in such a country? – a classic illustration of what happens when a country is continuously run by a deranged psychopath intent on retaining power at any cost

  3. He is not naive. Its you who is blind to facts. If the sanctions were useless to those who imposed them why are they keeping them on?

  4. VP Mnangagwa still continue to blame the country ‘s economic woes on the sanctions, how naive!

  5. After listening to the interview, your heading is very misleading. In fact I am very much impressed by our VP . He acquitted himself well .His grasp of what needs to be done to recover our economy and the current negative effects of sanctions is what Zimbabweans expect in our VP. I can only say well done Ngwena! Your slant on the interview is misleading,to say the least!
