By Paul Nyathi | President Emmerson Mnangagwa continues to play the “pro poor” Magufuli radical card, achange from former President Robert Mugabe as he today flew in a low cost scheduled flight from Harare to Johannesburg.

Unlike his predecessor who used to fly in a special business class chartered Air Zimbabwe jet on every trip, Mnangagwa flew to South Africa on his first international trip in a scheduled low cost Fly Africa Club jet which only has economy class.

The president travelled with a delegation of about ten people in the plane which costs about $200 return ticket from Harare to Johannesburg.

The President shocked a lot of travellers at the Robert Mugabe International Airport when he checked in for the flight together with ordinary passengers.

  1. Not only did Mugabe fly business class, he commandeered the whole plane for himself and his aides. What of the allowances he gave himself, his wife, children and aides. Mugabe was a reckless spender. We pray that ED will continue on the path he has taken, that of being people sensitive. Whilst he was in SA his wife Matebeleland, what a difference from the other couple who thought shopping was a full time job. Now they are in Singapore seeking medical treatment because they ran down the health institutions. ED, may the Lord give you the wisdom that He gave to Solomon. Please know that you are leading God’s people and not your people. If you embrace that you are President of God’s people, then you are on the right path. Do like what David did, always asking God whether to embark on something or not.

  2. Go to school and get your brains opened. There is no any criticism here that’s why someone is saying it’s pessimism. Criticism is when one analyse facts and come up with a plausible school of thought not that garbage. If you subscribe to that person’s notion then you are worse than a pagan.

  3. thats splendid of him. ED is the best President we can have for now. l wish all of us support him. the nation shall prosper and the poor will have a lifetime chance to be be happy in their own mother land.

  4. What security are you talking about Jukwa? Bob used to mingle with supporters who did not require any acreditation before he flew only to be “secure” after boarding his plane. Security nonsense!

  5. Criticize yes but with facts. To just prophecy from the blues that ED will change in 2018 is stupid and foolish indeed. We have to call a spade a spade, without fear or favour. It’s you who is not open to criticism.

  6. Can you verify this flight and airline have a regular schedule on the Hre-JHB route? I fly regularly between the 2 cities and this company(Fly-Africa) was grounded in 2015. I have searched for them for my next trip and there are nowhere to be found!

  7. I fly frequently between SA and Zim. FlyAfrica was grounded in 2015, even now, trying to find where I can book on that airline, they are nowhere to be found online. I smell a propaganda rat here. This plane must have been chartered, it does not have a regular schedule.

  8. Well done pres we give you the benefit of the doubt that something good might be coming out of Zanu not just because of the forth coming elections

  9. Newewo read my post below you have to have an open mind everyone’s has something to contribute despite different views.

  13. I have seen the blind here, bigger picture you not even seeing it.

All the adulation and kudos, kutobvisa mabhurukwa.

You forget Zimbabwe is celebrating Unity Day and someone will deliver a maiden Unity speech whilst someone is outside the country.

  14. Fake news: He was received at the Waterkloof Airbase by South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Maite Nkoana Mashabane and Zimbabwe’s ambassador to South Africa Isaac Moyo. Currently, President Mnangagwa is having a meeting with South African President Jacob Zuma at his Mahlamba Ndlopfu official residence.

  15. My President im proud of you..i hope it will send signals to those parastatals like ZIMRA .zinara who loot thru management obscene packages ..they have 300 managers each with a hilux and house every 3 yrs .lets see wat chinamasa will do

  16. The simple minded will concern themselves over a few dollars.
However, more concerned citizens will thinking of SECURITY for the Head of State!

Compromising SECURITY for the sake of a few dollars and to appease the simple-minded is not the sign of a wise leader.
However, he is a lowly Crocodile; so we shouldn’t expect anything too smart. lol

Only good thing here is that Zim will have President Oppah should anything happen to the mindless Crocodile. lol

  18. Big up to ED. As Professor Patrick Lumumba said, let’s Magulify African politics. I hope this is not just show boating but a permanent fixture.

  19. In any family there is always one who is different from the rest. I think Mr President you are different from the other lot in ZanuPf , I believe you . I have seen a lot of differences from the previous leader. Let’s build Zimbabwe ,it won’t take us long if we all play our part. Zimbabwe is so small with a very small population given the resources we have we will definitely make it.

  20. Kwaani – just wait and see- if ZANU -PF wins next elections – ndipo pamuchaona kuti Dhakisi riya is worse than Mugabe…..Old habits die hard….ED has got the ZANU-PF – DNA…….anything evil is the ZANU way…..its still too early.

  21. Ari kuzadzisa speech yake. Its good to show people that they were lost when they compared him with Bob. Some even accussed him to be more cruel than Mugabe. A lot of savings can bring back the best economy for Zimbabwe within a short time. Ngwena rova basa urinyerere tiri kuzviona.

  22. Kutonga kwaro…. Gamba….. Kutonga kwaro… gamba… Show them Mr Presidente…. Humble forever
