By Langton Ncube|President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s wife, Auxilia on Wednesday stunned health workers at one of the country’s biggest referral hospital Harare Central Hospital.

At the hospital the First lady found nurses on their routine duties and praised them for doing “a great job” despite the economic conditions.

According to the state media which went with Mnangagwa and covered the “surprise” visit, the President’s wife said she was hopeful  that the problems that the hospital is facing will be addressed in today’s National Budget presentation by Finance Minister Patrick Chinamasa.

“ You are doing great work caring for our patients despite the shortage of resources. I am sure you are aware of the prevailing economic situation in the country. I hope that some of the critical problems facing the institution will be addressed in the forthcoming National Budget when resources are allocated. The purpose of my visit is to have an appreciation of the hospital’s operations. I am happy. I was impressed by the cordial patient-staff relationship and cleanliness in the hospital,” she said.

  3. thanks for highlight typing error suppose to be patients on my initial post, yes the queue is massive and once there are on the job there are settled in the job there will engage in industrial action alson , its the name of the game in these sectors

  4. Obedia Moyo has transformed that institution to one of the best in the country. Its the lazy and criminal staff who are trying to take advantage of the mafia take over to settle their own scores. However nurses are plenty roaming the streets, and those who feel like leaving Chitungiwza Hospital are free to do so. the cue for those waiting for the job is long.

  5. Poor sleepy Harare Hospital and its staff who hurl obscenities at patience ,good for a change maybe there will jerk up , elsewhere we hear Obediah Moyo is on the receiving end from nurses and staff who want the man out.
