The Morgan Tsvangirai-led MDC has slammed former National Healing minister Moses Mzila-Ndlovu over his plans to form a political party, arguing the move is retrogressive and meant to divide people on regional basis.

Recently, Mzila-Ndlovu announced that he will soon launch his party to be known as Alliance for National Salvation (Ansa).

He said the outfit was meant to challenge the dominance of Mashonaland politicians in the national political arena.

Mzila-Ndlovu further said the people of Matabeleland have gone through “enough trials and tribulations” hence it was time for them to look inward.

However, MDC deputy provincial spokesperson Felix Mafa said Mzila Ndlovu was “full of confusion as he was wandering and wallowing in political wilderness.”

“It is too disgusting to contemplate regional or tribal political parties to say the least, unless one is a Zanu PF disciple targeted at dividing formidable political formations,” Mafa said.

Mzila-Ndlovu — who is outspoken about the Gukurahundi atrocities — early last year parted ways with the Welshman Ncube-led MDC claiming it had lost direction.

While many would have expected him to join other opposition parties, Mzila-Ndlovu decided to lead his own movement instead.

Mafa warned citizens against joining Mzila-Ndlovu’s project.

“People should be wary of these funny parties that get created now. Remember we are heading towards elections. Zanu PF, as usual, will create some funny parties to cause confusion mostly in the opposition parties,” Mafa said.

He said such parties had a risk of fuelling tribal hatred among citizens.

“We deplore that mentality in the strongest terms possible. We are not guinea pigs for political experiments,” Mafa said. – Daily News

  1. What kind of a spelling is this “Ndlovhu” of yours? Are you from West Africa?

We are Mthwakazi, not Shonas bloody idiot!!

  2. There is almost no country in Africa where it is not essential to know to which tribe, the president belongs. From this single piece of information you can trace the lines of patronage and allegiance that define the state.
In case none of you noticed, we are a country that was long ago divided specifically on tribal lines and at some point on racial lines-one need not get into detail about that. ZanuPf is guilty for creating a tribal chauvinistic system of governance that has discriminated against and made opportunities inaccessible to the people of Matebeleland and the Midlands? It is for all intents and purposes a tribal political organisation and because it has prospered, everyone respects it as a true nationalism, and no-one dare calls it tribalism-THAT is disgusting!!! But what I find even more disgusting to contemplate is the fact that this so called coalition of opposition parties seeks to unsit the Mugabe regime and most certainly maintain this tribal chauvinism which immediately takes away any common ground for a coalition.
Enough is enough!!! What has Morgan ever done for Mat’land?!! Tried, tested and dismally failed measures simply because Mat’land needs go beyond the albeit commendable desire to coalesce against the ZanuPf incumbent. Working with Morgan and/or anyone who cannot and refuses to understand/appreciate the plight and second citizen nature of people in marginalised regions in this country is exactly what Mzila should by whatever means possible, avoid!!! FYI the genocide in Rwanda was not a spontaneous eruption of tribal hatred, it was planned by people wanting to keep power. There was a long government-led hate campaign against the Tutsis and this is no different from what is happening in our country…we all know it!!!
I would therefore support ANSA on the simple basis that the mentality of “who is your uncle” – an ethnocentric way of thinking, is one of the leading causes of Zimbabwe’s internal conflicts and MUST be addressed!!!
And so much of this internal conflict is reflected in the refusal/reluctance to get spellings correct: it’s “Ndlovu” not “Ndlovhu” Mr Editor!!!

  3. I will support him 10 million percent; if ever there is such a thing!!

  4. I can never, ever in my life regret hating Shonas. Mzila is right.

Tribalism between uMthwakazi and the evil satanic God forsaken Shonas is a very good thing. I am an avowed and certified tribalist, and I am proud of it.

Tribalism between uMthwakazi and Shonas should be natured and encouraged. I hate Shona people and there is no beating about the bush about that.

People should stop pretending. Lets hate each other even more and keep the bloody Tshona at bay. Fucken Gukurawundis. I hate you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Who will support this mzila ndlovu guy. Get in a coalition and lets fight one enermy
