PRAYER DAYStaff Reporter| The Ladies of UK carrying the burden of the suffering of people back home, will join hands with Zimbabweans in Diaspora, on the 6th of August and storm the throne room of heaven to seek divine intervention. The function is organised by the Zimbabweans In Diaspora Organisation in partnership with LUK.

The biggest award winning social media group of Zimbabwean women in United Kingdom, LUK has been pivotal in supporting women faced with all kinds of challenges in Great Britain. The group has also intervened in dire situations faced by women at home, and is currently on a 3 month support plan for human rights activist, Linda Masarira who is in Remand Prison awaiting court hearing on the 11th of August 2016.

The 3 month support plan includes making available supplies for Linda while in prison as well as food and grocery subsidies for her children.
LUK founder, Flossy Kandodo explained the purpose of this day in an interview with ZimEye as , “a day of praise and worship, a day to bring our nation to the Lord, to bring our leaders to the Lord, to bring our people to the Lord….we just want to cry out to Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah the provider.”
She further explains, “we want the Lord to bless our educational system, to bless our road networks which are claiming lives everyday, we want to pray for provision of clean water, for good health and better quality of life. We want a leadership that co-exists with other nations; a leadership that fear the Lord.”

Kandodo makes clear in the interview that LUK does not support any political party but rather is there for the nation Zimbabwe. “We need a new Zimbabwe enough is enough the suffering has been long and we cannot suffer any more. We want the Lord to touch our leaders we want our nation to be productive we want to be restored. We were the bread basket of Africa we want restoration.”
The prayer which is open to men and women will be held at the UK Carnival of Arts in Luton.

  1. @ Shona Hater, I am so sorry for the legacy that Mugabe and Mnangagwa left us through the genocide in Matebeland and recently farm invasions. These are wounds that will forever be there and I pray that one day you will find it within your heart to forgive and let go, for your own sake. Being a Shona, I pray that these people can come clean and openly admit and apologize. But obviously arrogance speaks louder than reason.

  2. These prayers will never work as long as they are led by Shonas. God does not listen to evil people.
