Minister of Foreign Affairs and International
Trade, retired Lieutenant-General Sibusiso Moyo
has defended Zimbabwe National Army Soldiers saying they are well disciplined.

Moyo has also dismissed reports about soldiers who are assaulting and
abducting civilians in high-density areas.He accused the social media of peddling blatant falsehoods.

Addressing
diplomats and foreign observer missions, Moyo
claimed: “We have carried out investigations and the
head of Chitungwiza Central Hospital
has revealed that the
Government is not aware of any
victims of the beatings or abductions.
So far, there is a lot of false information
coming from the social media. The
military in this country is generally a
well-trained force, it is a well-
disciplined force,” said Moyo.

The Zimbabwe National Army has also

denied deploying soldiers to assault civilians in high-density areas.
