By A Correspondent| Opposition MDC leader Nelson Chamisa will today join the church in remembering August 1 victims at a prayer meeting in Highfields, Harare.
Today marks exactly one year after soldiers ruthlessly murdered innocent civilians in the capital Harare following protests over the announcement of Presidential election results.
Six people died in the capital Harare after soldiers opened fire on unarmed civilians killing 6 while injuring several others.
Said the MDC in a notice to the press:
The church has invited the MDC leadership to a prayer day tomorrow Thursday, 01 August 2019, at Zimbabwe Hall opposite Mushandirapamwe Hotel in Highfield, Harare.
The prayer day comes on the first anniversary of the shooting of innocent Zimbabweans in Harare on August 1 last year. Tomorrow’s prayer meeting also coincides with what President Nelson Chamisa has declared the week of prayer to pray for the country and its citizens.
President Chamisa and other MDC leaders will thus attend the prayer meeting in Highfield, which kicks off in the morning
