By Langton Ncube|Popular Harare prophet, Gathry Chiredzero, also known as Madzibaba Gathry, has ran away from paying maintenance for his child.

The popular prophet  last week appeared before the courts on allegations of running away from paying close to $4 000 maintenance arrears.

The State alleges Madzibaba Gathry has been on the run since August this year when he was ordered to clear the arrears by the court.

Through his lawyer Mr John Ndomene, Chiredzero told Harare magistrate Ms Josephine Sande he had paid $200, but had lost the receipts when the military police ransacked his house.

The complainant is Tariro Bhinzi and Chiredzero was ordered to pay $150 maintenance per month for one child.
