Zimbabwe was yesterday hit by the first shockwaves of an explosive disaster from the country’s largest mental health hospital, Ingutsheni.
Mental health patients who have gone without medication have begun to “riot”. One patient violently wrestled nurses, stripped naked and jumped onto the roof yesterday afternoon.
Nurses watched helplessly as the patient (name withheld) violently ran about on top of the roof threatening to do “whatsoever” he feels. At the time of going to press the situation had not been subdued.
