The Movement for Democratic Change, Vice President Thokozani Khupe was late afternoon involved in a car accident.
Khupe has been under siege by state controlled media who have been on a relentless campaign to tarnish her character. It was not clear at the time of going to press if any foul play was suspected, as Khupe’s phone could not be reached.
Her office wrote, “Please be advised that The Honourable Vice President T. Khupe was today involved in a car accident on her way to her rural home.
Her Isuzu Twin Cab veered off the road and hit a tree while trying to avoid what would have been a worse off accident scenario, 60km outside Bulawayo on the Bulawayo – Victoria Falls Road. She has been seen by a doctor at Galen House Medical Clinic in Bulawayo and is currently resting at her home. She is in a stable condition and will hopefully resume her normal duties not so long after completing her medical prescriptions.”
