Bulawayo(ZimEye)President Mugabe has been to and from Asian countries more than five times this year to allegedly seek medical treatment.
No official statement has been issued on what illness is troubling the president. Suggestions have been made that it could be cancer but no one knows what type.
In the picture taken recently(below) when he officiated at the graduation ceremony at the National University of Zimbabwe in Bulawayo, President Mugabe’s right leg seems to be bigger than normal and appears to have been forced into his shoe.
Could this be what is troubling him?

In recent months President Mugabe has been several times seen carrying a small bag whose contents and use remain a mystery to many but suspicions are that it may be a medical kit to keep the president “fired up”. At his age President Mugabe is susceptible to health related problems, but the ageing leader is adamant he will not be relinguishing power any time soon.

Photographers travelling with the President on official engagements were this week quoted by a UK website as having been intrigued by a latest piece of accessory: a mysterious black bag.

One said: “There are a few possibilities we have discussed, and they could all be wrong. Some of my colleagues think it contains some critical medical item, others say it’s probably for his phones while others have speculated that it probably contains money

Mugabe ‘too sick’ to cap NUST graduates
Shortly before the graduation ceremony at NUST, speculation on the health of Robert Mugabe continued to grow after the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Bulawayo made last minute changes to the graduation ceremony he was presiding over.

NUST students were quoted by SW Radio Africa saying it has always been a tradition that Mugabe, as chancellor of all state universities, caps them individually. But on Thursday 10th November the ZANU PF leader, who arrived an hour late, was clearly not up to the physical demands required to do that. Instead he capped the students in blocks according to their departments.
There was however to be some face-saving as the 87 year old managed to individually cap those who graduated with Masters Degrees and others who came out with distinctions in their chosen programmes. This meant capping approximately 100 to 150 students instead of about 1,000.
A student who spoke to SW Radio Africa on condition of anonymity said they were initially given name tags to give to the dean of each faculty and these tags were to be presented to Mugabe, one by one. “This entire programme was changed at the last minute and he capped us in a block,” the student said.
Although Mugabe does a similar block capping at the University of Zimbabwe, where the student population is much larger, he has always capped students at NUST individually, SW Radio Africa was told. One student told us “Mugabe looked old and tired and the feeling amongst many of us was that he needed to rest.”
NUST had its 17th graduation ceremony last month and for the first time used the recently completed Ceremonial Hall. Among those who attended included Deputy Prime Minister Arthur Mutambara, Higher Education Minister Stan Mudenge, his deputy Lutho Tapela and Bulawayo East MDC-T MP Thabitha Khumalo. 2. A man’s shoes and feet give away his character and his health. Note his shoe is not very clean indicating a slackness, also the sole is worn more on the outside again indicating difficulty in walking, maybe due to pain in the pelvic region. Swollen ankles can indicate a serious heart condition.

  4. For the past 13 days. Zimeye, the paper has been churning out news about Tsvangirai ‘s marriage. I think Zimbabweans deserve quality in terms of news.
    Please give us real news.
Zimeye used to be my favourite paper, but alas! its like they have run out of steam.

  8. Sure Mugabe must rest – he has run his full course. I personally give him credit for what good he has done for Mighty Zimbabwe. But for a whole reporter to write an unsure article on whether one of the president’s foot is now bigger than it was in 2008 or not is puzzling. This is an old old man, agreed. Why spent ink on such givens? Why don’t you go ahead and tell how many white hairs have grown on his head in the last month, how his appetite is giving him trouble, how he sleeps late into the morning, how he takes tablets, etc. Give us real news like the Guinness marriage that lasted 12 days, 1 hour and 26 minutes. After all, we can go and check all these age-related infirmities on our octogenarians at home if we are interested. FINALLY, PRESIDENT MUGABE DESERVES A REST!!!
