A government minister has angrily denied that President Mugabe dozed off while standing during a joint media briefing held with Japanese Prime Minister, Mr Shinzo Abe in Tokyo.
The Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services, Dr Christopher Mushohwe cautioned the media against unwarranted, disrespectful, mischievous and unprofessional onslaught on President Mugabe.
“Journalists should uphold professional ethics and code of conduct and desist from maliciously injuring a person’s reputation or dignity,” said Mushohwe.
“Watching the said video clip, one could see President Mugabe nodding his head in response to the message being delivered by the Japanese Prime Minister,” he added.
Minister Mushowe said Zimbabwe does not expect this kind of unprofessional behaviour and wilful misconduct from local journalists as it damages the reputation of President Mugabe in a big way.

Doesn’t Mr President do enough damage to self by sleeping on duty ? It doesn’t need a rocket scientist or a journalist to tell that the old man was dozing off and napping on duty . Naive Mushowe can get angry much as he like but that surely will not change the truth!! Is it not common knowledge that Mr President either falls off or enjoys his nap while on duty !! We do not need journalist to tell us that . Mushowe shld get a laugh and stop displaying a very low IQ.

Everybody knows what they saw. Definitely dozing off and not nodding. Mushowe thinks we are fools. Anybody can tell Mugabe is a very sick old man. That greyish washed out yet unwashed look. Its a matter of weeks if not days . looks like any terminal cancer or Hiv last days patient. I am surprised he does things that causes him to look like he is displaying his going body to the world. Die peaceful and quietly away from the camers old man. Show respect to yourself at least
