By Paul Nyathi | War Vets leader Christopher Mutsvangwa has been appointed Zanu PF Secretary for Science And Technology replacing his erstwhile enemy Professor Jonathan Moyo.

The annoucement was made by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Mnangagwa has also officially named Water, Climate and Natural Resources Minister Oppah Muchinguri as the ruling party National Chairperson.

Mnangagwa made the announcement at the closure of the special ZANU PF congress held in Harare on Friday.

Contrary to speculations that dominated social media in the better part of the day that Muchinguri was due to be appointed Vice President, Mnangagwa said he was postponing the announcement of his two Vice Presidents for a few more days.

Raising further speculations that Defence Forces Commander Constantine Chiwenga is being lined up for Vice President, Mnangagwa said that his announcement of Vice Presidents will require major adjustments in some key institutions.

Former President Robert Mugabe’s self confirmed most loyal son, Obert Mpofu, has been appointed as the party Secretary for Administration taking over from troubled Ignatious Chombo.
