Commander of the Zimbabwe National Army, Lieutenant General Phillip Valerio Sibanda has warned expelled G40 members of the ruling Zanu PF to desist from bad mouthing the country from foreign lands with intentions to harm peace and tranquility within the country, appealing to citizens to report any suspicious objects or individuals bent on destabilizing the country.

Addressing the media today (Monday) at the Josiah Tongogara barracks, Commander of the Zimbabwe National Army Leutenant General Phillip Valerio Sibanda said it is a duty of every Zimbabwean to ensure that malcontents and saboteurs and others of like mind are not allowed to succeed.

“Your Defence and Security Services would like to remind all Zimbabweans to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious objects and individuals to law enforcement agents.

“This is because some of the members of the G40 cabal that had surrounded the former Head of State are now bad mouthing the country from foreign lands where their intentions to harm the country have been pronounced.

“It is therefore the duty of every Zimbabwean to ensure that these malcontents and saboteurs and others of like mind are not allowed to succeed,” said Sibanda.

He called on Zimbabweans to maintain the spirit of peace and tranquility as the country prepares for the 2018 harmonized elections.

“As we prepare for elections in 2018,it is our wish that the campaigning and the voting it self on the day, takes place in an environment of peace and tranquility.

“And here again l want to quote the President where he said in his closing remarks to the ZANU PF Extra Ordinary Congress on 15 December 2017 as he also urged Zimbabweans to remain peaceful before and after elections whereby he said he do not condone any acts of violence,” added Sibanda.-263chat

  1. Nonsense. These people love fear mongering. No one in this world has any evil intentions against any Southern African country. This is the safest region in the world – plenty of minerals, no earthquakes nothing – stop seeing shadows of non existing enemies everywhere mani!!

  2. My analysis. With the army inclined to one party even if any opposition wins the elections they have no army to come in power with because the army and ruling party are one assembly. The risk we have is for opposition to get into power it has to come with its own army. own army means rebels and rebels means civil war. The G40 amassed a lot of money enough to join any strong opposition in the country to create a rebel organisation. This is even made worse by the fact that most of the G40 members have exiled themselves where they can connive and launch an attack from G40 sympathizer countries like Zambia. Just my analysis!

  3. why army is buzy mendling in zim politics.is this fare.so its true policehas no say over the army saka tiripama one guyz.this is real army rule

  4. Commander Sibanda, it is not for you or the army to label Zanu PF’s political opponents “malcontents and saboteurs”. If you know of any crimes Moyo or Kasukuwere have committed then report the details to the appropriate authority for investigation. It is totally unacceptable for the army to be arresting and detaining anyone, as happened with Ignatius Chombo, much less making politically loaded threatening remarks.

You are just a Zanu PF thug and all you talk of embracing democracy is cheap talk. You are just a skunk soaked in Chanel No 5 and every time you open your mouth is like the skunk flicking it tail, all is revealed!

  5. CONGRATUITOUS PV! A FIRST IN 37 YEARS! ZI ZI ZIPRA! PV REMEMBER THE TRAINING GEN JOSH GAVE YOU! BE PROFESSIONAL AS YOU ALWAYS HAVE BEEN!

  6. What are the criminal charges against Kasukuwere did I miss them somewhere. The army should stop intimidating and victimising citizens, rights for all.

  7. Too late there is nothing you can do about it General you are the ones who let these fellows slip through your fingers in broad day light, and to make it worse even the President has made the same mistake by giving looters 3 months moratorium and the same will happen all thieves will just disappear and you will have no one to arrest after 3 months.
