By Business Reporter| The United Kingdom Trade Director for Southern Africa, Dept for International Trade, says they are inundated by British businesspeople who are rushing for Zimbabwe.

The development comes after President Emmerson Mnangagwa opened up the market for foreigners striking out indigenisation restrictions on investment. ZimEye projects that at the current rate, President Mnangagwa could restore the economy in a matter of just a few months.

Writing on her twitter portal, Miss Elena Williams indicated she is battling processing many expressions of interest.

“Wow! I’m blown away by the expressions of interest I’ve received since my visit to Zimbabwe last week. Tomorrow I will be delivering a briefing in Cape Town, and have more offers to consider. Keep them coming!,” she said.

  1. It is you who is putting on NOTHING judging by your avatar. I now understand why Bob ruled with an iron fist. You people are good at complaining and criticizing everything. You don’t wish anything good for your country.

  2. Do your math. When Zim was under siege who was investing in the country , financing projects and not applying sanctions. Mugabe also once was the darling of the West before things soured and who says things cannot sour with ED in like fashion further down the road. There’s an old saying that goes make new friends but keep the old..

  3. Voodoo economics.
Very good on paper but nothing is happening on the ground. NOTHING………

  4. The big question who is most important the locals regardless of what race they belong and not all the foreign people stampeding . Take for example a person who was born in the country and because they were not of a certain colour they were forced out by the zainoids

  5. The proof of the pudding is in eating–you are emotional as opposed to factual–here are the facts
    1) Zimbabwe has already been visited by 3 top British officials in less than three months
    2) today the EC has said categorically they are going to prop up the Zim economy with immediate effect
I coul go on and on but im quite sure you are not an objective focused person so I wont waste anymore time with the likes of you vana doubting tomasi!!!

  6. Zvinonaka chete . Mwari wakupindura. Pane chakanaka waroyi haashaike kuda kutambura kwe mhuri ye Zimbabwe

  7. British Business folk caught in “stampede” for Zim opportunity…..

    A stampede ?

    Really ?

The “truth” about the mood in the diaspora is one of “very cautious optimism”…… with a good helping of suspicion, because the same accomplices from the former criminal regime are still firmly in control and retaining absolute power.

The British & Global media (and therefore Western business folk) are very much minded to take advice from the diaspora than the spin doctors of the new regime. They would do well to bear this firmly in mind as they scheme and plot with their plans for the future of our nation.

That future, post Mugabe, is no longer in their gift…… so they need to be seen to be acting (and repenting) accordingly…… with total sincerity and honesty.

    Pamberi Zimbabwe !

  8. ED is just campaigning to win the coming elections , he is just a hyena covered with a sheep’s skin . The question is that is he going to usher free, fair and credible elections ? Isn’t it that he is already rigging the elections ? , what will happen if he rigs elections and fails ? What will happen to our nation if ZANU PF loses elections , is the opposition going to be accepted by ED and Chiwenge to leader the nation ?

Chikotikoti , we are currently very uncertain about the future of our country, same applies to investors , they are so adamant in doing business with our country , therefore ED will never be successful in uplifting up the economy of our country under such uncertainty environments , you need to understand that all yours are dreams , people are not raising silly arguments but they are very concerned that ED is just being praised by people who have got love to ZANU PF without realising the aggravating factors which blocks our nation from fully going forward for the benefit of the whole nation and not only few individuals in the ruling party . The future of Zimbabwe is going to be determined by free, fair and credible elections FULL-STOP .

  9. Like ED said its important that Zim’s new policy is we dont need any enemies—kuwnda huuya kunorambwa nemuroyi–the Chinese are our friends, so are the British, the USA, EU,SADDC, AU everybody and that would be a strategic position for our long suffering economy and people–please lats not raise silly arguments when the econony is about to lift off! ED is doing far better than expected–he did his research before taking over power–great planning and execution!!!

  10. At the first instances of diagreement between Zim & UK they will pull out quicker than it takes lightening to strike. If only they could be as committed as the Standard Chartereds. Love them or not but the Chinese have proved to be all weather friends.
