Approach On A Donkey!!! Opinion By Jeff Chitando
When Jesus entered into Jerusalem he was riding on a young donkey. If we had to give some of you the option , you wouldn’t have chosen to enter Jerusalem riding on a donkey. Jesus could not have instructed His disciples to bring him a donkey when they could have brought a horse .If we were to ask most of you today, definitely you would have chosen a horse than a donkey.
A horse was a war animal. Chariots were for battles.If Jesus had chosen to enter Jerusalem on a horse it was a symbol of war.Jesus choose a donkey which symbolized peace,love,humility ,poverty and fairness.
This Easter remember whenever you are approaching anyone -ride on a donkey. Ride on humbleness, peace,forgiveness, love , respect and fairness. The Church Elders who were to crucify Jesus were all armed prepared for war.They were shocked when Jesus entred Jerusalem on a donkey-peace and love!!!
The Jews who were prepared for war against Jesus were shocked. *”A large crowd took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Jesus,crying out .”Hosanna Blessed is the he comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!* John 12 v13.
Jesus had given His enemies an olive branch. If the Jews had dared attack Him the crowd would have fought on Jesus’ side.This is because Jesus had approached His enemies riding on humility, peace,love,respect and honor. *Jesus won the battle without a fight just because he used the strongest weapon-love,humbleness, peace,respect and honor* The Bible record this as the *Triumphal Entry*!!!!
It was triumphal entry only because Jesus knew the mode of transport to use.Its up to you to win any battle provided you select to approach the problem riding on what type of animal–peace,love,humbleness etc.
I remember when Grace Mugabe attacked Dr Joice Teurai Ropa Mujuru ,she kept silent– riding on a donkey– love, peace, humbleness, forgiveness, respect and Mujuru won the battle without a word.
I will always respect Dr Joice Mujuru for approaching her rival riding on a donkey . Quality of good leadership!!When you enter the ballot box , its important to place your *X* on a leader who has shown –peace,love and humbleness.
