Diaspora returnee and lawyer, Petina Gappah has claimed that a leaked message posted on Twitter campaigning to denounce Deputy Finance Minister Terrence Mukupe is not hers.

Gappah claimed that her Twitter account was cloned.

Gappah was previously a critic of ZANU PF and specifically former president Robert Mugabe and  she became a supporter of President Emmerson Mnangagwa soon after the coup and has been doing advisories for him.

Mukupe has been the subject of complaints over sabotaging Manngagwa’s administration through reckless statements.

Gappah said she never sent a message toTwitter personality, Matigary (@Realmatigari).

Matigary has however released a copy of the alleged private message she sent him which states, “we need to start a campaign to get rid of Mukupe. He adds no value to the party at all. He undermines and sabotages. He has to go.”

Gappah has however denied the allegations saying, “my account was cloned. And frankly, Mukupe is doing a good job of smearing himself with no help from outsiders.”
