MDC Alliance Presidential candidate Nelson Chamisa has said the country’s former leader Robert Mugabe and President Emmerson Mnangagwa deserve respect for the role they played at the heigh of the liberation struggle.

Speaking at the launch of the MDC Alliance Manifesto codenamed SMART in the capital, Harare today, Chamisa said he would romp to victory in the July 30 plebiscite.

Chamisa added his government would show respect to both Mnangagwa and Mugabe because of their role in the liberation of Zimbabwe.

“Just like his former boss Mugabe, Mnangagwa’ s time to retire from politics has arrived.

We respect both Mugabe and Mnangagwa because of their pronounced influence during the liberation struggle. However we expect Mnangagwa to step down after losing the elections,” said Chamisa.

“Our government will also recognise the role played by former freedom fighters,” added Chamisa.
