South African soccer legend Jomo Sono has described controversial footballer Denver Mukamba as a “shame who has let his indiscipline destroy his talent.”

The controversial Mukamba once played under Sono during his unsuccessful stint in South Africa before returning to Dynamos in 2015.

In an interview with The Herald, the Jomo Cosmos boss said the 25-year-old midfielder would have reached places had he remained focused on his career.

“Denver is a shame. He had everything, but the lifestyle in South Africa killed him,” Sono said.

“Life is too fast in SA. There are too many beautiful women. I also don’t know if the liquor there is different from the liquor here, but what a player he is!

“You know, he had everything that guy, but his lifestyle was not good. I always say to the young players, even if you are going to sign with a big team, I still say go to school.”

Since his return to Zimbabwe, the midfielder has been struggling with disciplinary issues.
