A representative of the World Council of Church has expressed satisfaction at the peace prevailing in Zimbabwe, three weeks before the elections.

Speaking at a breakfast meeting facilitated by Zimbabwe Council of Churches in Masvingo, Reverend Andrew Williams of the World Council of Churches said he was impressed by the peaceful campaign programmes before the July 30 polls.

“We are following the elections in Zimbabwe with keen interest and we are looking forward to peaceful polls.

We hope there will be no cases of violence and intimidation. We are satisfied with the sanity in the country.

However we will continue to monitor the electoral processes,” said Revered Williams.

Aspiring MPs and councillors also attended the meeting.
