Cornered President elect Emmerson Mnangagwa has
denied reports that there is a rift between him
and his deputy Constantino Chiwenga.
Speaking in an interview with a British television station, Mnangagwa dismissed reports of the said rift
as cheap political rhetoric. He also said he was in total control of
the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) -which shot
and killed civilians during a protest last
Wednesday.
“Many people would want me and the
Vice President to be loggerheads.
Unfortunately they will dream and
dream. No one can build durawalls
against dreams. Let those people
continue to dream. Our friendship dates back to the days of the liberation war,” said Mnangagwa.
