By Farai D Hove | President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s deputy Constantino Chiwenga currently hospitalized in Asia is now unable to speak, it has emerged.
Insider reports reaching ZimEye say that the general who removed former president Robert Mugabe is now struggling to speak following his struggle with an undisclosed ailment.
Chiwenga was flown to India early February after his health deteriorated. 4 days later it got to the level of failing to eat.
However speaking is now difficult, a Harare based source told ZimEye.
Last night ZimEye telephoned the man and his cellphone reported a voice message in the Indian Hindi language. (ZimEye could not at the time of writing establish exactly where the man is.

Meanwhile the South African government yesterday sent well wishes to Chiwenga.
“On Zimbabwe, we must start by wishing Vice President Chiwenga a speedy recovery. We all know that he has not been well. I am informed by our High Commissioner, that he [Chiwenga] has travelled to India for further treatment that will help his condition,” South Africa’s International Relations and Cooperation Minister Lindiwe Sisulu told journalists in Pretoria.
“We wish him a speedy recovery there.”
