By Own Correspondent| A Zanu Pf chairwoman from Stoneridge was reportedly brutally attacked and left for dead.
Zanu Pf has however implicated yet to be named opposition MDC members in the attack which they said aimed at killing one of their own.
Said Zanu Pf Patriots in a tweet:
“Opposition members attacked our member!
Zanu Pf Chairwoman from Samora Machel in Stoneridge was attacked with knives by opposition members who broke into her house last night. The knife cuts clearly shows the inetntion was to kill her.
Responding to ZimEye regarding the above mentioned allegations, opposition MDC spokesperson, Jacob Mafume said his party was being dragged into Zanu Pf factional fights.
He distanced his party from the allegations and said his party was being persecuted simply for being opposition.
Said Mafume:
“We did not attack Zanu Pf. Our members do not wear Zanu Pf clothes. The problems of Harare South are documented and well known. These are Zanu Pf factions. Mnangagwa’s nephew (Tongai Mnangagwa) was imposed in that constituency and the structures of Zanu Pf have never accepted him and they are continuing their fights. We have nothing to do with the fights and the people who were fighting each other know each other very well, they know each other’s names and they cannot ascribe it to the MDC. We are a peaceful party, we are the victims here and we have no interest in being involved in Zanu pf factions. We dispute those allegations. They are merely an excuse to try to arrest, persecute, torment and kill our membership.”
