Farai Dziva|Hard-hitting MDC A national deputy chairperson, Tendai Biti has slammed the Emmerson Mnangagwa administration for introducing inconsistent monetary policies he described as “voodoo ” economics.
Biti warned of further economic chaos as a result of poor economic policies.
“The situation was bad before 1 October .It was bad before 11 Jan and 20 February Truth is the transaction tax , the fuel levies and the Monetary Policy have compounded the meltdown . The economy is fragile and vulnerable . The citizen is paying the price of voodoo economics,” said Biti.
“According to Emmerson and SI 32 of 2019 gazetted on Friday , Zimbabwe now has 5 currencies which are 1)foreign notes and coins 2) bond notes and coins 3) foreign currency in basket of multiple currency 4)electronic currency (the RTGS$ ) 5 Bills of exchange . What a dog s breakfast !”
