Farai Dziva|A tribal war has erupted in Chiredzi District as Shangani people in the area battle with Shona speaking teachers ” for territorial supremacy.”

Angry Shangani people have vowed to fight for the removal of Shona speaking teachers from Chiredzi District.

Last week Chief Tshovani declared that he would fight tooth and nail to remove Shona speaking teachers from his area.

“This is unfair, we have our ethos and values yet the government continues to deploy Shona speaking teachers to Chiredzi District.

We are in the process of negotiating with the responsible government officials because we no longer want Shona speaking teachers here,” said Chief Tshovani.

“The deployment of Shona speaking teachers is affecting our cultural values and beliefs.The teachers who are coming here cannot utter even a single Shangani word,” added Chief Tshovani.
