By A Correspondent- South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa has deployed soldiers to help police curb demonstrations and riots that have erupted in his country.

Rhamaposa announced the decision to deploy soldiers Monday evening during a televised address.

Ramaphosa said the government would be prioritising the prosecution of suspects involved in this violence.

He said that there will be meetings twice daily to discuss stabilising the country.

Ramaphosa said the government was mobilising all available resources to deal with the unrest.
